Architects and architectural professionals in Canada require Continuing Education or Learning hours to maintain their professional designation. Browse courses that meet your requirements, or choose one of our course packages, specially curated to contain all the hours and credits you need, in one place. The courses on LearnFormula may be counted towards professionally relevant, verifiable learning activities. It is the student's responsibility to validate whether an activity is an eligible educational activity for their professional development requirements based on their own learning needs.
All architects registered with the Architects' Association of New Brunswick (AANB) must complete 70 continuing education (CE) hours every two years, consisting of 25 Core (Structured) hours and 45 Self-Directed (Unstructured) hours. The current CE cycle runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026.
Core or Structured learning hours must be at least one hour in length and directly relate to the business or practice of architecture. These include courses, workshops, college or university programs, seminars, lectures, and distance education that includes an interactive component. Structured hours must be supported by appropriate documentation, such as a certificate of participation or registration receipt.
Examples of Core topics include:
Self-Directed hours may include independent study or informal learning and only require review (not formal approval). Ineligible activities include browsing trade shows, watching videos, using social media, or listening to podcasts.
Members must report all CE activities using AANB’s online system and upload supporting documentation for Core hours. Self-Directed hours may remain marked as “submitted” but should still be documented. The system tracks progress and allows members to monitor compliance throughout the cycle.
If AANB is not the member’s primary CE jurisdiction, AANB will confirm compliance with the member’s declared jurisdiction at the end of the cycle through the Primary CE Reporting Jurisdiction Declaration Form.
AANB conducts random audits of approximately 10% of members at the end of each cycle. Members selected for audit will be required to provide documentation confirming the accuracy of their transcript. Inconsistencies or incomplete documentation may result in transcript adjustments.
Members who meet all CE requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the cycle.
Courses on https://architecture.learnformula.com have been reviewed by LearnFormula’s Accreditation Department to align with AANB's continuing education requirements. Courses include defined learning objectives, interactive components for distance modules, and appropriate documentation. While these courses may meet AANB’s Core or Self-Directed criteria, final approval remains at the discretion of the AANB.

CE Architects courses are built around relevant, verifiable content that can be applied toward AANB CE hours. As with any provider, it remains the member's responsibility to confirm an activity fits their own professional development needs before claiming it.
