All licensed members of the Architects Association of Prince Edward Island (AAPEI) are required to complete
70 Continuing Education (CE) hours every two-year cycle. This includes a minimum of
15 Structured Learning hours and 55 Unstructured Learning hours.
The current cycle runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026.
Structured Learning involves organized educational sessions that provide foundational knowledge related to the practice of architecture in Canada. To be recognized, these activities must:

Activities outside these categories may not be eligible for Structured credit but may still qualify as Unstructured if they are relevant to the member’s professional development.
Unstructured Learning activities are self-directed and selected by the member based on their relevance to the practice of architecture or business. These include:
Activities must be a minimum of one hour. Certain categories such as reading or trade show participation are subject to hour limits per cycle.
Members are expected to maintain their CE transcripts via the RAIC national platform at
www.raic.org. A three-member Transcript Assessment Committee will review records at the end of each cycle, with a 10% random audit conducted for compliance.
Documentation for all CE activities must be retained for at least two years. This includes certificates, proof of participation, and other supporting materials.
