Architects and architectural professionals in Canada require Continuing Education or Learning hours to maintain their professional designation. Browse courses that meet your requirements, or choose one of our course packages, specially curated to contain all the hours and credits you need, in one place. The courses on LearnFormula may be counted towards professionally relevant, verifiable learning activities. It is the student's responsibility to validate whether an activity is an eligible educational activity for their professional development requirements based on their own learning needs.
All licensed members of the Manitoba Association of Architects (MAA) are required to complete 70 Continuing Education (MCE) hours every two-year cycle. This includes a minimum of 25 hours of Structured Learning and an additional 45 hours that may be Structured or Unstructured. The current cycle runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026.
Structured Learning refers to organized educational sessions that deal with specific matters related to architecture or business management. These sessions must:

Unstructured Learning may include self-directed study, reading, or informal activities, but must still contribute to professional development and be logged appropriately. Members are responsible for determining whether an activity qualifies and under which category it falls.
Members must log all CE activities using MAA’s official online transcript system, accessible at:
https://www.mbarchitects.org/login.php.
The deadline for reporting is June 30 of each even-numbered year.
Failure to comply with MCE requirements by the deadline may result in the following actions:
While MAA members are responsible for self-reporting and determining activity eligibility, a random audit of CE transcripts is conducted at the end of each cycle. Members must retain proof of Structured Learning for at least one year following the end of the cycle, as documentation may be requested.

While these courses may qualify as Structured or Unstructured learning depending on delivery and content, final acceptance is at the discretion of the MAA.
